EDU-KWONDO / THE EDUCATIONAL TAEKWONDO was established in 1984 at a medical university. It is one of the most potent enrichment programs that enhance educational learning. Edu kwondo has a complete curriculum with a simple Learn, Practice, and Demonstrate syllabus.

About Grand Master Alwyn Richards Sr.
About Grand Master Alwyn Richards; Founder and Director of Edu-Kwondo / Educational Taekwondo
Grand Master Alwyn Richards. is a benevolence taekwondo instructor. Grand Master Richards is also a taekwondo Pioneer and was inducted into the Taekwondo Hall of Fame in 2017. In 2018, The U.S.A. International Black Belts Association inducted the Grand Master into the Hall of Fame on the golden anniversary of having over forty years in the martial arts. He won the world's best master award in 2012. Instructed over 50,000 students in more than eight different countries. Certified by the U.S.A. International Black Belt Association. Graduated from Bryan University with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and professional training and coaching. Certify Specialist by the Nation Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) for Youth and Older Adults training programs. Grand Master Richards is currently 8-degree Black Belt and a taekwondo legend.

We live in a new world today, and Edu-kwondo is the new name for modernized Taekwondo which enhances educational learning. The future of tomorrow depends on our children of today, but our children are struggling to collaborate with innovative technologies and forgetting our moral rules and cultural ethic. Edu-kwondo Educational Taekwondo innovates a higher standard of Discipline, Respect, and Self-control that will make everyone seems like one big family under one national organization.
At Edu-kwondo, we strive to achieve progress and development in every effort. Our Instructors take time to explain and demonstrate every problematic move. We improve from regressive to progressive movement according to the student's physical ability. Our classes include injury avoidance and safety precaution; we also use protective gear and training equipment.

It's an honor and a great privilege to have the opportunity to share words of encouragement with everyone. Welcome to the educational name of taekwondo, Edu-kwondo.
Edu-kwondo is the new name for taekwondo, and it is one of the most potent enrichment martial arts programs to enhance educational learning. It was established in 1984 at a medical university, and during that time, I was a student at one of Grand Master Richards Edu-kwondo Schools.
During the early 1980s, martial arts in the Caribbean hardly had any international affiliation and recognition. However, Edu-kwondo was connected to Chung do kwon Taekwondo, foundational Korean martial arts. Looking back on those days, our school had no protective gear or equipment. Imagine safety falls on a plain concrete floor with no groin cups or mouthpieces. Also, I can recall seeing light contact sparring escalate into full contact fighting several times, but both fighters ended up with a smile and not a dispute.
Here are some great tips or ideas for everyone doing Edu-kwondo Educational Taekwondo; If you miss a class session, please check with your sparring partner who attended the session and will update you; Respect your uniform, always keep it fresh and clean; Learn Edu-kwondo with the willingness to teach it again, and you will not forget what you have learned; If you can't make it to class on time, still show up and practice willingly whatever time you get there; Respect your Instructor and all other students, respect your parents and all other adults, and most of all respect your self. Welcome to the world of Edu-kwondo.

At EDU KWONDO, The Educational Taekwondo, we believe that Taekwondo is more than just a physical activity. It is a way of life emphasizing discipline, respect, and self-improvement. Our philosophy is to instill these values in our students and help them become better versions of themselves.
I am so excited to explain how I got here and my duties as the Programming Director and Judges Supervisor. I believe that Edu-kwondo is the only martial art that attracts my involvement. I always wanted to become a martialist for self-defense and physical endurance, but Edu-kwondo enhanced my educational ability.
I started with Edu-kwondo as a judge, testing the kids at their examinations. Being thrilled by their various moves excited me to register and become a student. As a student, I became so deeply involved in organizing and setting up the programs for our exams that I was given the opportunity as Programming Director and Judges Supervisor.
As the Programming Director, I oversee all operations that evolve programming.
